Having a collection of autographed soccer memorabilia has long been a way of proving your loyalty and passion to the sport. If you’re interested in starting your own collection, here are several tips to ensure that you’ll not only have an easy time collecting

How to Obtain Autographed Soccer Memorabilia

There are two ways for you to obtain autographed soccer memorabilia: you can have the soccer gear or equipment signed by the athlete with your own effort, or you can purchase one that has already been autographed.

It’s certainly more affordable to work for your own autographed soccer memorabilia by yourself, but your main problem would be finding ample opportunity to approach your favorite soccer player and get his autograph. You will also have to work on getting a certificate of authenticity for your memorabilia in the event that you’d wish to sell it for a profit.

Purchasing autographed soccer memorabilia is easier, naturally, but more expensive as well. You also run the risk of buying from fraudulent sellers selling fake autographed soccer memorabilia.

Types of Autographed Soccer Memorabilia

Photographs – These can be photographs of the athlete himself or a scene from a particular soccer game containing the necessary signature. Photographs may be something you’ve taken by yourself, purchased, or won. If it’s a group photo, consider having it enlarged so that all the signatures of the members making up your favorite soccer team can easily fit its surface.

Soccer Ball – These can be either purchased or obtained at your own effort as well. If you’re going to have a soccer ball signed by your favorite players, invest in the best soccer ball you can purchase: one that has the words “FIFA approved” or “official size or weight” imprinted on them. Make sure to have a dark-colored soft tip marker ready for the signatures because it writes well on soccer balls and is easily visible. When you have completed the signatures, place it inside a glass or see-through container for safekeeping.

Soccer Shoes – Many sports brands nowadays produce clothing, gear, and equipment under the name of famous players; the same thing applies to soccer as well. If your favorite soccer player has his own line of shoes then it would be ideal to have him affix his signature on his own product. Since shoes don’t have much writing space in them, they are usually good for a maximum of three signatures.

Soccer Wear – These are what make up a complete soccer outfit: soccer top, shorts, and socks. A soccer shirt or uniform serves as one of the best types of autographed soccer memorabilia because it allows the players and coaches to write as long as they want.

Gloves – These are worn only by goalkeepers, so you can generally expect only signatures from popular goalkeepers to appear on gloves. Again, autographed soccer memorabilia of this type can be purchased or obtained through personal effort.

Shin Guards – While shoes, uniforms, and soccer balls make up the bulk of autographed soccer memorabilia, it’s very rare that you’ll find a famous signature written on shin guards. Thus, this type of memorabilia is usually obtained by personal effort.

As a last warning: make sure that you are truly purchasing from a trusted and reliable source especially if the transaction will be processed online. Be careful about using your credit card, and never allow payments to be handled by any website you haven’t checked the Better Business Bureau with.

Practice makes perfect, this is true. It’s true will many things. No matter how much natural talent someone has they still need to practice each and every day to improve them selves. Naturally soccer is no different. Individual soccer drills are an important tactic to improving ones own game. They’re unfortunately largely overlooked because so much time spent on team building.

Needless to say it’s important to work as part of a team in any sport, but it is also important that each individual improves their own game so that they could be active contributors to their team.

Normally practice time is spent honing team skills, although a small portion of time should be spent instructing on an individual basis. Assessing each and every player is a perfect first step. Once the player’s strong points and weaknesses are assessed than the individual soccer drills can begin.

Individual soccer drills are meant to expand on an individuals strengths and to improve their weaknesses. They may be as simple as advising a weak runner to run up and down the field to increase their stamina, or they may be as complex as combining several different types of drills to increase the all around game.

It isn’t necessary to do these drills alone they may be done as part of a group, if there are several members of the same team that need to improve their stamina than those members can work together as a team on their individual drills.

Of course even if every member is completely different and their individual drills are different they can still work out at the same place and time they will just be doing different things.

Individual soccer drills can be done at home, during any down time. Even if the team doesn’t have practice for the day the individual can still act on their own to perfect their game.

The more the individual works on perfecting their game the more the team will benefit. Taking practice seriously enough to do it everyday will improve the game of both the novice and the expert player.

Great athletes are not born they are created. Individual soccer drills can help to create the perfect athlete and they should not be overlooked. The team is after all made up of individuals. The weaknesses of the individual can bring the whole team down.

Some individual soccer drills are sure to impress your friends and improve your skills.

Soccer is a great sport, it is well loved the world over. Two generations ago most Americans knew nothing at all about the sport, but today it seems like each and every child is involved with a soccer team or they no less than have friends and classmates which are.

Fun soccer drills really can make the difference in whether a child will remain involved in the sport. Sure each sport may have some grueling work outs involved with them, but keeping it fun will keep the child interested and looking forward to practice.

A few of the hardest children to work with are the youngest children. They are easily distracted and don’t like to participate unless there’s constant action. At this age the primary goal ought to be not to make soccer super stars but to simply teach team work and an understanding of the game.

Using fun soccer drills masked as other games on the field will keep the youngest kids happy and interested. There are actually plenty of fun drills that can be used effectively to teach the concept of the game. Using games that they may already be familiar with will go a long way in teaching them.

Most five and 6 year olds understand how to play tag. One person is it and that person chases the other participants to tag them. You may add a soccer ball to the mix to teach the children how to handle the ball without looking at it, by making the ball the thing that the person is it has to tag. This can enhance drills and teach some extremely basic skills like keeping the head up to see who, is headed your way while moving the ball around with your feet. It seems rather simplistic but the best drills are.

Once children reach a specific age there are actually going to be other things that motivate them, the drills for eleven through thirteen year olds can also take on the form of games that they would like. Playing drivers education on the field is a great way to get these pre-teens to practice. You may set up cones on the field that will set up the “road” while each and every player moves the ball down the field one at a time and responds to right turn left turn u turn commands. This is great fun for the kids and teaches great ball control techniques.

Fun soccer drills should be a part of each and every practice. It’s after all a game!

Some soccer drills are sure to impress your friends and improve your skills.

You have to consider that education is one of the most important investments that you will ever make in your whole life. This is why your parents save money in order for you to get in a good college and finish it. As a parent, you want your child to have the best education money can buy. With a college education, your children will be able to live a good life.

College education is required by many companies today in order to have a spirited workforce that will keep their company competitive in the world of business. Whatever field your child chooses, you have to remember that college education will land them that job they want and also secure their future.

You also have to consider that the high paying jobs today requires a college degree. If your child doesn’t have a college degree, then the chances for them to find the job they want with good compensation will be very hard.

However, what if you can’t afford to pay for college? With the decline in today’s economy, just making ends meet is a challenge. So, you may now ask, what about your child? What happens to your plans in saving money for them in order to get in a good college?

One good way to get your child to a good college is by letting them play soccer. It is a fact that it may seem too good to believe that soccer can take your child to college. However, there are good colleges out there that offer college soccer scholarship. They send out scouts to different schools to evaluate different soccer players and offer the best soccer player a college scholarship. This is one of the best and the most common ways that your child can earn a scholarship.

If your child loves playing soccer, you should consider investing in this sport in order to improve your child’s soccer skills. Armed with good soccer skills will prepare them for athletic scholarship grants that many colleges are sponsoring. However, your child should be the best in the sport in order to get noticed.

You have to consider that soccer isn’t really a very good career choice for your child. The odds of getting a career out of soccer are very close to nil. You just have to think of soccer as a ticket for your child to attend a good college where they can learn the field they choose and prepare them for the future.

You should advice your child that being soccer pro will be a very hard thing to achieve and they should also study in the field they choose in order to let them have a second option on getting the job they want. You have to advice them that although they should work hard in their soccer skills, they should also work hard in their academics and study hard in order to prepare them in case they don’t make it as a professional soccer player.

When applying for a college soccer scholarship, you can get your child to be involved in the Olympic Development Program. This program will increase their chances in getting a college scholarship and will also let your child polish their skills in playing soccer. It is also recommended that you child should play for a good soccer club as well as in their high school.

Always remember that college soccer scholarships are sought by a lot of students. By having the proper skills and the proper discipline, your child will be able to play soccer in college and at the same time, earn their scholarship.

Sports brand Adidas have recently released a range of fitness accessories called ‘miCoach’ which monitor heart rate, distance and speed when running. Unlike usual heart rate monitors, the data is not just displayed on a watch; instead they pair with software downloadable for free for all smartphones.

The miCoach series is separated from the popular Nike+ pedometer by the fact they do not only pair exclusively with Apple technology. Although the software for the iPhone is likely to be the most popular, the devices will also pair with an array of mp3 players and smartphones.

Instead of charging a high price for the software, it is free to download from app stores and the website; this will most likely prove popular as it incorporates GPS enabled smartphones to allow fitness training without the devices.

The software can be used on its own but the addition of heart rate and pedometer are much more effective in performance analysis, which Adidas hope will be an incentive to buy the full price gear.

The app analyses data from the GPS receiver, heart rate monitor and footfall counter to determine how effective your training is, it will provide on-the-go feedback that can instruct you to pick up the pace, slow down and will direct you through a predetermined, personalised training schedule.

Adidas have released the products in a bid to compete with rivals Nike over their Nike+ products. The Nike+ is much cheaper but has limited functions and only provides a basic analysis. The miCoach provides one of the most in depth analyses of any personal training device, data can be uploaded to an online database to track your progress and provide useful feedback.

If your training is going well and you are feeling boastful, there is an ability to upload data to a variety of social media platforms. The results can be streamed wirelessly so your friends can track where you are and how fast you have been running. Adidas hopes a friend’s judgement will encourage users to train harder.

Due to their sponsorship of some very large footballing names, some stores are offering discounted miCoach equipment with the purchase of a pair of Adidas Predators and Manchester United Football Shirts.

Rumours and speculation have been flying around over the future ownership of Liverpool Football Club, most notably the prospect of a buyout by Chinese businessman Kenneth Huang. He was first linked to the club in 2008 but was put off by the 650m valuation; the club is currently valued at 350m.

Huang is chairman of Hong Kong based QSL Sports Group and has the backing of a wealthy investment fund behind him. The move could see an end to Tom Hicks and George Gillett Jr’s shambolic control over the club.

Because of their 237m debt, the owners are obliged by their bank to listen to any offers they receive. Huang has offered to buy the debt from RBS in order to seal the deal. However the owners have told RBS that they are in negotiations with Syrian Businessman and former football international Yahra Kirdi, this is rumoured to be an attempt to prise more money from the Chinese.

The current offer would see Hicks and Gillett make no profit from the sale of the club which they bought in 2007 for 218.9m, they are reportedly hoping for an offer in the region of600m.

Earlier in the year the club appointed Roy Hodgson as manager, he has explained that the uncertainty of the club needs to be resolved before it is too late, preferably to bring in new players before the transfer window. If there is no successful buyout, RBS could request a percentage of their loan and potentially push the club into administration.

Huang’s bid has been surrounded by controversy as he is said to be backed by the Chinese government. However this makes perfect sense due to the club’s popularity in the China and the readily available capital.

However if Huang does secure possession of the club and has government backing, it will mean a great deal of investment for Liverpool, more money for players and an ability to charge larger amounts for sponsorship contracts as their games will undoubtedly be viewed in great numbers in china, particularly if they conveniently sign some Chinese talent.

If the buy out goes ahead there’s a chance we could see a new, Chinese sponsor on the Liverpool football shirt and possibly a Chinese alternative to the popular Adidas Predators boots that many of the players favour.

Manchester United defender and Serbian Captain Nemanja Vidic has dismissed rumours that he intends on leaving the club. He has been repeatedly linked to big money moves abroad to Barcelona, Real Madrid and AC Milan.

He claims there was never any question whether he would leave Manchester United despite heavy interest from Jose Mourinho to lure him to Real Madrid. Before the world cup a representative had said Vidic had “requested some time from United to think about things”, while Sir Alex Ferguson said he could not clarify the situation.

However, shortly after, the club’s chief executive David Gill revealed that there was a verbal agreement with Vidic for a long-term contract to remain at Old Trafford. The international says he always wanted to stay at the club, “I don’t know why people think it was a difficult decision,” he said. “I always said I am happy here. I never spoke about my future. I know there was all this speculation but I never said I wanted to go. There was nothing new. I am very happy to be here.”

His new 90,000-a-week contract will make him one of the highest earning players on the squad and the extension will take his deal up to a massive 18.72m.

Man United’s players who took part in the world cup have been excused from the current USA tour so Vidic will make the deal official when he returns from his holiday. With the possibility of veterans such as Ryan Giggs and Edwin Van Der Sar going into retirement, Vidic could become one of the more senior figures in the locker room.

The club will also be in discussions with striker Wayne Rooney in attempts to extend his contract which currently has two years left to run. Vidic’s decision to stay is a huge plus for the team considering Rio Ferdinand’s fitness problems and the general uncertainty of their defence.

The sponsors are happy that Vidic will continue wearing the Manchester United Football Shirt and his Nike Mercurial boots as he is one of the league’s top players.

Professionals, college, and high school play soccer with two 45 minute halves. The rules of soccer is simple, two teams that consist of nine players and a goalie. The players are only allowed to play the soccer ball with their feet, and they are divided into offense and defense. Kicking the ball into the opposing team’s goal is the game’s main objective. Therefore, the only one allowed to use their hands as well as their feet are the goalies.

Juggling is often practiced by soccer players, and this is a skill that consists of keeping the ball in the air using the feet, knees, head, chest, or thighs. Unless you want the other team to take possession of the ball, don’t use your hands or arm. The opposing team takes possession of the ball by doing a “throw-in” when the other team knocks the ball out of bounds, and during this time both feet should stay on the ground while the player throws the ball back into play. A “corner kick” is the result of when a soccer ball is kicked out of bounds over the line of their own goal, and the opposite team takes the ball to the corresponding corner and kicks the ball back to the team. For a “goal kick” which is the result of the team kicking the ball over the opposing team’s goal line, it is to be taken by a defensive player of the team.

Different circumstances can call a “foul”. Fouls can be called when a player touches the ball using the arm or hands, tripping or pushing, displaying bad sportsmanship and tackling other players.

If this happens, the opposite team will get a free kick from the referee when he called the ball dead in the spot where the foul occurred.

When the score is still tied and the regulation time runs out, then there’s going to be a shootout where the one team’s goalie will play against the opposing team’s player. The game is won by whoever scores a goal first.

David Beckham, the legend who has been representing England's National Soccer Team for more than 10 years is being called upon by Coach Fabio Capello. Unfortunately, Beckham isn't getting called to lead the team, but Capello wants to give him a chance to say goodbye.

David Beckham, the legend who has been representing England’s National Soccer Team for more than 10 years is being called upon by Coach Fabio Capello. Unfortunately, Beckham isn’t getting called to lead the team, but Capello wants to give him a chance to say goodbye.

Beckham recently became the leader for the most international soccer games played by any player in England’s history. He’s represented the soccer team in 115 games. This number would have been higher if he wasn’t hurt before the 2010 World Cup, which was upsetting for all supporters.

At this time England’s preparing for their next major event; the 2012 European Championship. Now that David is 35 years old, England won’t need him. They’re looking for young blood as they can’t keep living in the past. However, all of England must agree with Capello’s decision to give David the opportunity to say farewell and play one more international match.

Capello wants to see Beckham say his farewell in a final match at Wembley Stadium. If there’s anywhere it should be England’s home field is the perfect setting. The public knows of Capello’s plan, but they also have certainly been informed that Capello won’t take Beckham for any competitive matches moving forward.

We all know that David’s career is coming to an end. He’s 35 and as much as England doesn’t want to let him go, it’s time they move on. Capello made it clear that these older guys aren’t the answer. England hasn’t done anything spectacular with them anyway, so it’s time for them to find a new answer.

In an interview with Fabio Capello, he stated that he didn’t get a chance to discuss this situation with Beckham. I’d have to imagine it’s come up in the past, so it’s no shock to Beckham.

The first one to react to Capello’s statements was Beckham’s agent. He basically confirmed that David Beckham has no plans to retire at the moment.

His agent also made it very clear that David is available to play for England any time he’s fit. I can see David making one last surprise and pulling through to make the 2012 squad. It would be a great end to his career!
